The launch of Urban Jungle
After 17 years trading in Norfolk, Urban Jungle Plant Nursery and Café flings its doors open for the first time on 5th August at its new sister location in Beccles, Suffolk.
Urban Jungle is a unique plant shopping experience, very different to other garden centres, with a beautiful, quirky and inspirational shop floor, dominated by stunning plants. Large garden centres may have diversified from their core but at Urban Jungle it really is the plants that do the talking.
Owner, Liz Browne says, “Business has boomed in the last few years and I put this down to the sheer hard work and determination of our team, their passion for plants, and great advice to customers so they buy the right plants for their gardens. Nearly all our customers come from referrals so they must be happy with our service.”
Bounce were delighted to be invited along to the launch evening to see what it was all about.
“It really is different to your ‘typical’ garden centre and the cafe is a cool place to spend time in. The centre presents a great excuse to visit for plant buying for the home and garden, or a spot of lunch and a coffee. I am particularly fond of the lantern range on sale as well as unique and unusual house plants,” said Bounce’s Editor, Rachel Ducker.
The Nursery and Café pride themselves on working with the environment in mind and are always looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact, using reclaimed materials for building, organic pesticides, organic and free-range ingredients in the cafe.
They intend to grow all their own vegetables for the Café organically from their new site.
Niamh Mullally, Propagation Manager for Urban Jungle commented, “My aim is to provide daily harvests all year round of unusual, delicious and visually appealing chemical free vegetables for both Café Jungles”.
Café Jungle completes the experience for visitors with vibrant, Bohemian surroundings, and an eclectic mix of cosy furniture, with each seating area totally embraced by exotic plants. It provides a place to socialise and relax, leaving customers feeling inspired and refreshed. The tree-house style ‘nest’ provides an elevated hide-away for customers looking for somewhere truly unique to enjoy a coffee with friends. Amongst the seating and plants in Café Jungle is a selection of soft-furnishings and fair-trade gift-ware for sale.
Tom Seppings, Owner of Hall Farm Weston commented; “We are delighted that Urban Jungle, a thriving independent plant retailer and cafe, have taken over the garden centre at London Rd, Weston. Their Plant Nursery and Café at Costessey near Norwich has a very original style, bringing success as well as a sense of fun.”
Urban Jungle and Café Jungle is now open at their new Suffolk location, with everything that customers love from Urban Jungle Norfolk and much, much more…
