Soften your living space with rugs…

Do you have a room that lacks warmth and excitement?

Rugs are the perfect way to solve this problem, so we have come up with a useful guide of how you can do this in your home and garden.

Define Areas

Using a rug to separate zones such as seating areas or eating areas can be really useful especially if you have a large space to work with.

We used this outdoor rug from The Rug Seller to create a focal point to this outdoor area.

Get inspiration

If you have a favourite rug you can draw design inspiration from this alone. The neutral pattern in this rug from Dunelm, create a warm illusion against oak natural flooring, and cosy’s up a very neutral room.

Use different shapes

Not all rugs have to be square or rectangular. By using a round rug such as this outdoor one from The Rug Seller, you can add interest to any outdoor space.

Update a Room

This could be an easy and cost effective way to brighten up your decor. By adding a rug under your dining table can instantly life a room just like this one Noble Ruti Circle from Brintons.

The right size

When you buy a room size rug, subtract 3 feet from the length and width of the room. Leaving the floor bare at the edges makes the room look a little larger. When laying a rug under your dining table, leave at least 24″ of the rug from the edge of the table out on all sides.

Modern or Traditional

Depending on the space you may like to go for something a little more different like this a Persian style rug from Rugs Direct.

Use a liner to keep your rug from slipping!
