Potters Resort

Bounce Magazine were thrilled to be invited to the recent ‘Stars of Dance Weekend’ at the Potters Resort in Hopton. Here’s what we thought…

‘On a bright summers day we were grateful to be heading towards the coast of Hopton near Gt Yarmouth.

As our Bounce Team arrived there was a real buzz in the air. We weren’t really sure what to expect from a themed weekend though we were soon to find out.

After check in we strolled across to the main hall to be greeted by well-dressed couples gliding across the dance floor, changing their styles one track after another.
The three-night break is for all abilities and though our team were mere amateurs – we still gave it a go, although we would all confess we were not the most elegant dancers out there!

Our itinerary was full of fun things to do including a lesson and workshop with the professionals, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’s’ Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer. It was amazing to see the couple live; they gave the audience their full attention and energy, so all of the guests looked like they were really enjoying themselves.

After a full to capacity workshop there was still much fun to be. As well as the carefully planned dancing schedule for the weekend, there were also other activities to get stuck into on site.

Our group favoured the go-karting and with the weather in our favour we timed ourselves over two laps to have an in-team competition.

The beauty of being on a Resort such as Potters means that you have the independence to create your own fun as well as partaking in planned activities. After many laps we then had our first experience on the Segways!

Some of the team were more successful than the others, however once you obtained your balance you were good to go.

If Segways aren’t your thing a round of mini golf would more than surface your competitive needs!

As a highlight our team would recommend a go on the Giant’s Swing – it is much scarier than it sounds! I think our boys screamed even louder than the girls!

When raised high up into the air, you are suddenly dropped, the butterflies are unleashed in your stomach and finally it comes to a stop.

Definitely one for the adrenaline junkies out there.

When dining you can never get lost as you have your own dedicated tables. We all know as creatures of habit it is nice to be in the same spot, so for us this was a bonus!

The food was served quickly and there was a variety of food on offer with menus changing each day. With a vegetarian in our group the menu was also very flexible to suit dietary needs.

Whilst waiting for the evening entertainment we enjoyed wandering down to the beach to enjoy the sunset, it was a great way to walk off our meal.

The entertainment in the evening was really enjoyable and to a very high standard. Of course Kevin and Karen were the stars of the show with a phenomenal dance show performance.

However the Potters Entertainment team followed and had us all singing along to our favourite theatre songs.

On our final day the weather took a turn for the worse, but there were plenty of indoor activities to turn to. After a quick rock climbing challenge followed by some archery, we felt satisfied that we had made the most of the experience.

Our Bounce team give Potters a big thumbs up!’
