Looking After Your Well-Being During the Pandemic: Our Top Tips

While we are confident that this is something many have been doing before this point in time, we feel that it is crucial to remind people every once in a while, to take a moment to care for their well-being.  

As we trundle towards the first anniversary of being in a state of lockdown, there may well be some mixed emotions flying around. This, to us, is why we feel it is crucial to just gently remind those reading this and beyond on the importance of taking some time for ourselves in such unprecedented times.  

When thinking of the different ways that you can justify this, you are in the right place! We have created a short list below of ways to look after your well-being, both individually and as a collective. Read on for inspiration!  

  • Connect with Others: We can understand how this may feel like somewhat a bit of a chore when suffering from Zoom fatigue, but it is crucial to remain in contact with others during what could be a slightly isolating time. Whether you organise a video call with your friends once or twice a week or catch up little and often, the choice is entirely up to you. The main thing is to ensure that you are getting adequate levels of social interaction beyond that which you would be getting during your workday.  
  • Social Events: This seems like something out of a fever dream as of late; it has been such a long time since we were at our favourite venues with all of our friends. While the prospect of reliving those moments is still some time away, there are virtual social events that you could host or attend, both to bond as a group and look after your well-being as well.   • Detox: While we can recognise that we are spending more time than ever consuming technology and various forms of media, it is also crucial that we remind ourselves to take time away. Believe us; we have been there ourselves! Taking a few hours a day to put down our devices, and give ourselves and our eyes a break, will positively contribute to how we are feeling and our overall well-being. Being mindful of our time and doing other activities to break up our screen time is sure to make a world of difference.  
  • Regularly Exercising: Another activity we are confident many have been partaking in since the country was first plunged into lockdown almost a year ago, but one that we feel should also be reiterated further. Whether you choose to go for a jog in your local area or opt for doing an intense workout in the comfort of your home, exercising regularly can have positive impacts on your mental well-being. Not to mention, it’ll help to burn some of that pent-up energy while working from home!
