One of the best things about being Action Man is the awesome gifts I get for Birthdays and Christmas, one of the most recent was a voucher for quad biking with East Anglian activities at either of their locations in Cambridge or Bury St Edmunds.
So I took my father-in-law Mick to their Suffolk sight just off the A134 for the 1 hour long course.
Having never been on a quad before I was relieved to find that they were very easy to handle, a thumb control throttle with an automatic gearbox made acceleration simple whilst grip lever brakes made the equally important deceleration also straight forward.
The group started with a few guided laps of an easier flatter course giving us an opportunity to master the controls, it wasn’t long before you discovered that sharp turns were possible with a swift flick of the handle bars and some clever weight distribution (Action Man don’t need brakes!).
We then headed for the more challenging, undulating and damp wooded area still following the lead of our tutor we twisted and turned through a series of channels and paths with a number of hills and mud filled trenches, there was also an open straight which allowed you to put the pedal to the metal! (or your thumb as far as it can) Such fun was had that the hour passed in no time and I’m sure it won’t be long before I’m back on a quad again.
So if you’re still in need of Christmas presents for the Action Man in your life then check out www.eastanglianactivities.co.uk for a full range of outdoor pursuits.
