This month Bounce Magazine were delighted to be invited along to the award-winning Valley Connection, situated in the heart of Bury St Edmunds on Churchgate Street.
‘Unlike most traditional Indian restaurants, Valley Connection, also known to the locals as ‘VC’, pride themselves in offering their customers a contemporary and relaxed surrounding to dine in.
With a recently refurbished restaurant, full of atmosphere and character, you can enjoy award-winning dishes in relaxing and peaceful surroundings.
The lighting and textures of the dinning room, all set within a spacious layout, presents a traditional mood that you can really cosy up in.
Here you can enjoy an up market dining experience with menus that focus on Indian continental dishes to Bangladeshi cuisine.
As we arrived at Valley Connection we were warmly greeted by owner Mr Shahid and his fabulous team.
After being shown to our elegant table we were presented with a vast menu of mouth-watering dishes. Indecisive, we asked for Mr Shahid to recommend a few dishes to us. Without hesitation he pointed us in the right direction.
Traditionally starting the meal we ordered an array of poppadoms with delicious chutneys, followed by a scrumptious selection of Onion Bhajis, Prawn Purees and Kebabs.
As for the main event – it was hard to not feel like royalty. A selection of colourful, spiced food was placed in front of us, including Salmon Tikka, Chicken Pordanishi, Haryali Massala to name but a few!
These speciality dishes are all creations of Valley Connections owner Mr Abdus Shahid.
After the recent success of his trip to India to take part in the Taste of Britain Awards, new dishes have also been added to the extensive menu.
We spoke to a few of the other customers at VC and here is what they had to say… Andrew states…
“After trying a lot of curry houses in London we appreciate the fine quality of the food served here. Our favourite dishes are the King Prawn Shalsha and the Sea Bass Speciality.”
We then spoke to another couple Bob and Shelia, who come at least once a month and have done so for the past six years.
“We love the atmosphere and the very friendly staff. We always have enjoyable evenings and feel very welcome every time we come.”
Mr Shahid finally commented “Our main aim when opening was to create wonderful new signature dishes. This lead to the success of our awards.”
If you are planning some events over the Summer period, Valley Connection is now taking bookings for large parties to small.
Don’t forget to check the website for special offers and to view the full menu.
We have to confess, at Bounce we are regular customers here, but for many reasons, the exceptional service, quality of food and range of dishes, nothing is ever too much!
Look no further that Valley Connection…Its one of our favourites.’
