Bounce Magazine were excited to be invited to one of the All Inclusive Party Weekends at Potters Resort in Hopton…
On a bright summers day we were grateful to be heading towards the coast of Hopton near Gt Yarmouth.
As our Bounce team arrived, there was a real buzz in the air.
We weren’t really sure what to expect from an all inclusive drink weekend, though we were soon to find out.
We were staying in one of the resorts bungalows, which were modern, spacious and could accommodate up to four people with a good amount of outside space, perfect for relaxing in the sun.
All inclusive drinks started from 6pm each evening.
The nice thing about this is was that once you left the bungalow, you didn’t have to worry about taking out your purse or wallet, everything was covered and with a simple show of your wristband… you could order any drink you desired.
When we arrived at dinner in the main restaurant there were already two bottles of wine waiting for us, a sign of things to come!
The three course meal was served extremely quickly and our waitress, Hannah, was very attentive. With two vegetarians in our group, there were some great options on the menu including a ‘Ricotta Tortellini’ and ‘Sweet Potato Curry’ followed by dessert.
Our other guests enjoyed Sticky Ribs and a Carvary, which was self-service.
When dining, you can never get lost as you have your own dedicated tables. We all know as creatures of habit it is nice to be in the same spot, so for us this was a bonus!
The highlight of our visit had to be the Potters Theatre Company.
The quality of the acts were fabulous, from the Michael Jackson impersonator to Boy George and Take That, taking us through the 80s, 90s and noughties, we simply had to join in and dance, and that we did until the early hours of the morning.
Once worn out, on hand to help us sober, up was a wonderful Chilli, served in the Terrace. Much needed!
As we arose with cloudy heads, the next day we wandered over to breakfast and discussed the day ahead.
Over Eggs Benedict and a strong coffee, we decided our next stop was riffle shooting.
Little did the staff member know, one of our team was a trained shooter, and of course he shot every bullseye on the target!
The beauty of being on a Resort such as Potters means that you have the independence to create your own fun as well as partaking in planned activities.
So whilst still in full competition mode, we headed over for a short session of mini golf. I think it is safe to say we weren’t quite as good at this activity!
There is never a dull moment at this resort, the guests are at the heart of it, we loved taking part in the mid-morning quiz and only got three questions wrong!
To make up for a heavy night, we hit the Palms Health & Fitness centre on site for a quick lunchtime workout. A full fitness suite is available along with a pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room.
After a shower and a short chill out in the bungalow, I then stopped at the Aphrodite Beauty Studio for a treat little treat and had a 30 minute back, shoulder and neck massage.
My therapist Anna was lovely, very friendly and left me feeling super relaxed.
Before dinner we went for a walk on the beach, which is situated right on the edge of the resort.
On our second night we booked in to The Black Rock Grill.
It’s a fixed price menu where you get to cook your own food on your very own volcanic ‘Hot Rock’.
No oils and fat are used, so it is a really healthy way to dine, plus for the price, things keep coming until you say otherwise.
Again, for the veggies, Halloumi was served in place of meat and for the meat lovers out there why not try the Exotic Meats including Kangaroo!
Overall our experience at Potters was a fun one, but we give a special mention to the attentive, friendly staff on hand, who helped to make our experience a special one.
Perfect for catching up with friends, hen/stag parties or just a break away with the family, here you will find everything you need in one place.
Our Bounce team give Potters a big thumbs up and we would love to go on another event again soon!
