At the end of the first month of activities in the Village Hall it’s a resounding positive to the initiative to keep the Hall open for the Community.
With a large deficit in annual funding the Committee set to to deliver a programme to bring people into the Hall and keep on using it.
We kicked off with the Holton Big Breakfast on Sunday morning – a full traditional.
Cooked plate of local produce with tea/coffee and toast. Over 37 hungry visitors sat down to freshly cooked breakfast.
Due to the demand a second session of the Big Breakfast will be held on Sunday 6th November starting from 9.30a.m.
The Pop up Pub followed and the committee was delighted with a great turn out who happily listened to Stuart and Steve entertaining with live music and song, many even took to the floor!
November 11th will be the next opening of the bar at 7.30.p.m. with a local group playing music to sing along to.
A highly successful Fashion Show by Colours from Manchester- brought over 130 ladies to enjoy the show and many to purchase bargains on a very warm night in Holton.
Those seeking exercise and a thoroughly enjoyable evening joined The River Hundred Folk Band in a Ceilidh at the Hall.
A very different experience for many but entered into with gusto! With music from traditional sources and up to relatively modern with “Portsmouth” to dance to those attending went home much fitter and happier having danced their cares away to a fantastic Band and great callers!
