An all time classic…
The dirty secret behind the Dirty Martini? A dash of olive brine brings a hint of umami to the classic Martini.
• 70ml/2fl oz vodka or gin
• 1 tbsp dry vermouth
• 2 tbsp olive brine
• 1 wedge of lemon
• 1 green olive
1. Pour the vodka, dry vermouth and olive brine into a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice and shake well.
2. Rub the rim of a martini glass with the wedge of lemon.
3. Strain the contents of the cocktail shaker into the glass and add the olive.
Have it shaken not stirred, James bond was right… Stirring creates a cold, taut surface free from ice shards. Shaking is supposedly good to add antioxidants.
