An independent kitchen and tableware storehas recently opened at 66a St John’s Street, Bury St Edmunds.
Run by husband and wife team Jacob and Megan Castang, the store will showcase artisan tableware and handmade kitchen products, suitable for home entertaining, serious foodies and professionals alike.
The emphasis is on sustainable and responsibly sourced products.
Jacob Castang is a renowned international chef, with celebrity clients and even Buckingham Palace to his name.
His wife Megan is also a keen foodie with a passion for environmentally friendly products, meaning you won’t be getting any disposable plastics in store.
Many products, such as the handmade ceramics, are sourced directly from small, UK producers, and the couple dedicate themselves to finding the best British hidden gems to bring to the high street.
They also stock fair trade products from artisans around the world such as recycled glassware from Vietnam, always making sure that the human and environmental impact is at the top of the agenda.
Jacob explained that ‘It was important for me as a professional chef to only stock products that I would use myself. I think there is something for everyone, from affordable, everyday use products to the higher end and professional ranges.’
Megan added ‘The collections that we’ve curated really reflect our passion for cooking and entertaining.
From family Sunday lunches where everyone digs in, to fine dining dinner parties and posh restaurant meals, we believe that the heart of the home is in the kitchen, and we’ve put our heart into ours.’
Castang’s Kitchen celebrated their opening on Saturday 21st October with bubbles, nibbles and a charity raffle for a packed hamper.
Bounce Magazine popped along to the event to offer support and wish Jacob and Megan every success in their new venture.
